Yoga Frequently Asked Questions

Yoga Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be flexible to do Yoga?

No. Yoga is for everyone. Yoga has a reputation for being only skinny, flexible young people when most people in the modern world would benefit from Yoga.

I'm not fit - can I do Yoga?

Every person is welcome in my Yoga classes and workshops. But some styles are more suitable than others. If your a beginner or haven’t done a lot of exercise try beginners or yin which are the most accessible. If you’re fairly fit and strong already then you might want to dive straight into a dynamic vinyasa flow.

What should I bring to class?

A yoga mat (I do recommend you have your own as it’s nicer) but don’t worry if you haven’t got one as we have plenty of equipment including mats at the studio. A bottle of water (not in Ashtanga) and yourself of course!

What should I wear to yoga class?

Comfy clothing. Avoid anything too restrictive such as jeans.

When should I eat before a YOGA class?

It is best to do Yoga on an empty stomach as we can move into lots of poses that help the digestive system. So try to avoid eating a heavy meal at least 3 hours before. If you absolutely must eat prior to class have something light and easy to digest. AVOID BEANS at all costs (for obvious reasons lol)

How do I pay for classes?

Purchase online using our booking solution; we have Unlimited monthly memberships and a variety of class pass packages or you can just book by for each individual class such as Vinyasa Flow mixed level, Yin Yoga and restorative, Yoga, Slow Yoga for Beginners, Ashtanga Led primary or Sound bath.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a beautiful way to integrate your mind, body and spirit. It focuses on strength, flexibility, and breathing to enhance physical and mental well-being. There are many different styles of Yoga today, from Ashtanga to Vinyasa Flow. Still, the basic principles they share remain grounded within the centuries-old tradition that gave rise to it. My approach is modern, straightforward and accessible so that even beginners can get started right away with confidence.
